Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actress who is known for her role as the fierce lawyer Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. She is now known by her married name, Nikki Kodjoe. As a child in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always fascinated by acting. At a Maryland high school competition during her first years of training, she was awarded the title for the most outstanding actress. After her experience in the theatre and with "The Washington Ballet Company" She was awarded an acting degree at the New York University. The first role she played as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned the most respect. Then came movies like 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. Contractor Born at Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She had already experienced numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very early age. She attended boarding school in London between the ages of seven and nine, after which her family relocated towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her youth and early adulthood. Contractor had a great academic career throughout her time in Toronto in addition to her training as the ballerina. She was enrolled in the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high-school for the arts, in which she didn't just study theater but danced and also. Contractor, who had been dancing for nearly ten years at that time when she decided to concentrate on acting. After she had completed high school, she received an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She she also double-majored in Psychology and Sociology. Following a year at University, Contractor went to an open audition for the show Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the leading role. The 92 productions she performed received acclaim from Canadian critics. The conservatory at Stratford accepts eight men as well as four females along with a couple of others for a weeks crash course. Contractor got a place in the following season of plays and landed the part of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
